Dr. Alex Geduld-Boucher

Veterinarian

I was born in Quebec and spoke only French until moving to Ottawa at the age of 5. I attended school in the Ottawa region until graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science from the University of Ottawa. My background in medical sciences combined with an ever-present fondness for animals led to a natural transition into veterinary medicine. Prior to attending the Ontario Veterinary College, I volunteered in multiple animal hospitals, worked on a dairy farm and worked for the Public Health Agency of Canada in disease monitoring and public education. I obtained my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2021 and joined the North Hill Animal Hospital team in June of the same year. My areas of interest in the veterinary field include neurology, surgery, and emergency medicine.

My favourite part of the profession is the diversity of experiences we encounter, no two days are the same. My favourite part about the clinic is sharing these experiences with the wonderful staff, while creating lasting relationships with the clients. Fun fact about me is that I have a passion for wildlife conservation and during veterinary school, I travelled to Namibia to volunteer at the Cheetah Conservation Fund. I am currently in the market for a canine companion and am looking to adopt a rescue. I also make my way to visit the family dog/my best friend Cosmo in Ottawa whenever possible.

In my spare time, I enjoy listening to music, playing guitar, reading, travelling, playing hockey and cooking. P.S. I am always interested in talking about any of these subjects (if time allows).
